Bye bye King Kenny
In news that made me incredibly happy, Kenny “King Kenny” Dalglish has been sacked by Liverpool.
During Dalglish’s tenure, Liverpool has been a disappointment both on and off the pitch. Unlike his earlier tenure at Liverpool, Dalglish couldn’t lead Liverpool to success in the league- although Liverpool did win the almost insignificant Carling Cup and lost in the FA Cup final to Chelsea.
Dalglish wasn’t fired earlier because of the clout he developed in his earlier managerial tenure and time as a player with Liverpool.
During Dalglish’s rein, Liverpool has become a hotbed for poor signings with most of these signings being British players (i.e. Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stuart Downing.) Prior to the season, expectations had Liverpool competing for a top 4 place in the league, they finished in 8th, 17 points behind 4th placed Tottenham. That simply isn’t good enough for a team with the history of Liverpool.
In addition, Dalglish played an important role in the disappointing stance that Liverpool took during the Luis Suarez/Patrice Evra ordeal.
I am interested to see what direction Liverpool will go now. Finishing in 8th place and behind Everton in the time is unacceptable for Liverpool.
Thierry Henry to the Rescue!
Thierry Henry in likely his last Premier League match for Arsenal came on as a substitute against Sunderland and scored the winning goal. It was a huge win for the Arsenal and it tied them in points and goal differential with Chelsea for fourth place in the league!
As an Arsenal supporter I’ve celebrated all day and thought I should post a video of Thierry Henry highlights. The man is my favorite player after all! And all of us Gooners will miss him dearly.
I am in the New York area, so I will be rooting for the New York Red Bulls. Hopefully I can make it to a couple of their games.

The Game Before the Game…
Today there is a huge match in the Barclays Premier League between Manchester United and Chelsea. I am excited for it not only because, football (soccer), is my favorite sport, but it’s the perfect prelude to the Superbowl.
Chelsea this year have been as weak as they’ve been in a few years, and somehow against all odds United are still in the thick of the title race.
Chelsea according to the bookies are a slight favorite which is understandable although they’ve already lost three times a home this season. On the other hand, United have the best away record in the league.
Prediction: This reeks of a 1-1 draw which both teams wouldn’t be too upset about prior to kickoff. Bring on the snow!
Goals for Torres (yea I said that!) and Rooney.
Bring on Super Sunday!
